On the 9th October 2004, several council members from Wexford, Ireland including the Lord Mayor of Wexford Councillor David Hynes, came to visit Birmingham. On their visit George Sands and Marion Doyle from the Northfield Caledonia Pipe Band arranged for them to meet the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Councillor Michael Nangle. The visit went extremely well and both Lord Mayors had much in common. Following the meeting the Lord Mayor of Birmingham kindly gave a tour of the Wonderful Birmingham Council House.

On the evening the Band entertained the party at the Irish Centre in Digbeth
